UCNE participates in the Antonio Elizalde Lecture Series for Peace of the Uniagraria University
The Antonio Elizalde Latin American Lecture Series for Peace is a prestigious inter-institutional organization encompassing the top peace building experts of Latin America. Uniagraria University in Bogota serves as a host of the lecture series but the organization includes many other universities in the Americas. On Sunday the 10th of February, a lecture was organized at the iconic Francisco de Paula Santander Museum in Bogota. Dr. Otto F. von Feigenblatt delivered a lecture about the role of universities in the development of peace. The lecture was attended by prominent members of the academic community, government officials, and by development experts. The Catholic University of New Spain was represented by Dr. Otto F. von Feigenblatt and by Ambassador Marcelo Varela-Erasheva, member of the advisory board. Dr. Patricia Claudia Toro Ramirez, Vice-Rector for Extension of Uniagraria University received an honorary doctorate from the Catholic University of New Spain for her distinguished career as an educator.
Dr. Otto F. von Feigenblatt received the highest honor bestowed by the Antonio Elizalde Latin American Lecture Series for Peace which is the "Medal of Peace" for his contributions to the field as a scholar and diplomat. The Medal was presented to Dr. von Feigenblatt by Dr. Daniel Alberto Cardona Gomez, Dean of the Faculty of Education of the Universidad Gran Colombia.
