First Asia Pacific Academic Summit (Bangkok, December 21, 2019)

On the 21st of December 2019 the Catholic University of New Spain, the Noble Company of Bernardo de Galvez,,and the American Society of Diplomacy and Political Science hosted the first Asia Pacific Academic Summit for Peace and Development. Held at the exclusive Royal Thai Navy Club at the heart of Bangkok, the event featured several academic presentations about public policy and education. Chulalonkorn University, Sripatum Univerity, and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University were represented at this important academic event. The keynote speaker was Professor Dr. Malcolm Cooper, former Vice-President of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University who delivered a lecture on "Smart Cities". Special guests included His Highness Prince Sawath Pathanak of Laos as well as many local academics and representatives from the private sector. H.E. General Chavalit Yonchaiyudh received the Commemorative Medal of San Fernando from the Noble Company of Bernardo de Galvez and he accepted the honorary presidency of the International Academy of Social Sciences. Several academics also received the Commemorative Medal of San Fernando. HH Prince Sawath Pathanak joined the American Society of Diplomacy and Political Sciences and delivered a brief speech about the importance of historical heritage.
