UCNE Honorary Professor of Music, Maria Ratkova shines in Europe and Latin America

Mezzo Soprano Maria Ratkova is a well known opera singer in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. With many years of experience singing in Italy and also serving as a music instructor, Prof. Ratkova has become a household name in South America. The Catholic University of New Spain has bestowed on her the title of honorary professor of Music for her many contributions to opera and she has also joined the Noble Company of Bernardo de Galvez as a Dama de Merito.

Maria Ràtkova, mezzosoprano- contralto is an opera artist and a coach of vocal art and stage skills of a worldwide approach with a rich experience in the opera theater, ensemble music, sacred music and concert activity in general. Her repertoire extends from the opera music, symphony and oratorio, the baroque music, including as well a sacred pieces, to the classical evergreens and musical theater highlights. The first important operatic debut, being highly acclaimed by critics in the “L’Opera”-the worldwide opera news review, Maria Ràtkova has performed in 2007 with the title role of stunning Octavian in “Der Rosenkavalier” written by R.Strauss in the opera theater Politeama Greco of Lecce , following therefore with the numerous debuts and the different musical parts in the opera theaters and music festivals of Saint-Petersburg, Italy, France, Finland Republic, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland, United Kingdom, Spain, Greece, Albania, Singapore, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, Argentina, Bolivia, Brasile, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay,.

Actually, since the 2009, Maria Ràtkova, is habitual guest artist in the States of Latin America. Exept the numerous projects with the Fondazione del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma for which Maria Ràtkova is regularly invited for a music collaboration in the quality of Contralto, here are not going to be missed the theaters such as Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, teatro Regio di Parma, Conservatorio Santa Cecilia, I Virtuosi dell’Opera di Roma, Roma Sinfonietta. Above that, in the quality of professor of Vocal Art and Scenic Skills, Maria Ràtkova does collaborate with

the Music Academy “Ars Nova” in Rome, Institute de France aux Villa Medici de Rome, State Centre of Culture and Science of Russian Federation in Rome, The Holy See Foundation “Tota Pulchra”, Universidad Catolica Boliviana, Conservatorio Plurinazional de Bolivia, La Paz.

Prof. Ratkova is currently working on a project to promote the study of music in Latin American in cooperation with the Catholic University of New Spain and with the Noble Company of Bernardo de Galvez.
