Michael Fridovich, UCNE Chancellor passed away on the 14th of December, 2025

Michael Fridovich, Chancellor of the Catholic University of New Spain and former Vice Mayor of the City of Gulfport passed away on the 14th of December. Chancellor Fridovich led the University with kindness and vision. He inspired professors and students to open their minds to new ideas and he emphasized the University's social mission. The University community will miss his leadership and guidance. The advisory board of the University has decided to establish an honorary chair to remember his legacy. The "Michael Fridovich Honorary Chair of Public Policy" will focus on promoting research on public policy at the local level. We ask the University community to pray for the repose of his soul.

The Vice Chancellor will be serving as acting Chancellor until the board appoints a new Chancellor in early 2026.
